Has anyone had to declare their medication at american customs?
What is the procedure? And what should i expect?
Going with my in-laws and don't want to draw attention to the fact I'm on meds!

It's suggested here that you need a licence to take CDs out of the country for personal use. http://www.homeoffice...s/licensing/personal/
I'm not on CDs but when I travelled in Saudi (where even drugs like Codeine are not welcome) I took a letter from my GP explaining why I needed to carry a supply of painkillers.
If you are planning to travel abroad with it you should check its legal status in the countries you are travelling through and to. There are legal limits on how much medicine you can take abroad with you. If you need to take more than this limit you will have to apply to the Home Office for a licence before you travel. Even if you don't need a licence, if you are taking this medicine abroad it is always a good idea to carry a letter from your doctor that confirms your need for the medicine. You should always carry the medicine in correctly labelled packaging, as dispensed by the pharmacy.
I doubt that my meds are on any list, but I usually have a bagful when I go anywhere - including the USA about once a year - and nobody's ever shown any interest in any of them.

My meds are uk class B and schedule II classification in U.S
I have a letter to confirm everything.
Are you really expected to declare them?
Jno.... Do you carry your meds in hand luggage or suitcase?
I'm going to Spain too and not worried about there just thought America were super strict
ALWAYS take meds in hand luggage...take a copy of your repeat prescription with you too so they can see it is all legit !
in my hand luggage - just to make sure I know where they are. The last thing I'd need is for a suitcase to go missing with the pills that keep me going.
You could take your prescription if you want but they won`t be interested. I wouldn`t declare them. Take an apple or a banana in though and they`ll have an absolute hissy fit!
I recently stopped taking a prescribed controlled substance, you do have to be careful.
