Eddie - are you a politician by any chance? Your moral awareness suggests it! The reason that a disabled person is awarded a blue badge is to prevent THAT person from having to walk further than necessary to shops etc. If the disabled person does not intend to leave the car or is not even in the car, then the badge is being used illegally. It's not rocket science.
My mother had a blue badge.
A few years ago I dropped her at the hospital door with a case as she was there for a few days and drove about 100 yards down the road and parked my car in a disabled bay and displayed the blue badge.
A warden who saw what happened approached me and said technically I had committed an offence as my mother was not in the car at the time it was parked.
He did say he would not issue a ticket as it was clear I was using the car for my mothers benefit but he just wanted me to be aware someone could.
Even though my mother was disabled we try to avoid parking on double yellow lines.

For the last time, here are the actual government rules about use of the blue badge. Will You PLEASE read it and scroll down to the part headed ''Misuse of the badge'' it says ''its is NOT illegal for the badge holder to wait in the car for the return of the driver ''
http://www.direct.gov...dtransport/dg_4001061
At least read it before you start posting the exact opposite of the rules !!!!
Emmasnow99 it also says it is not illegal for the driver to remain in the car displaying the badge while awaiting the return of the badge holder .
