I have been giviern a lovely floor lamp - the only problem is that it has been kept in a conservatory with 5 cats!!! It is filthy and I dread to think what is on it! What is the best way to clean it - it is made of metal, not sure what type but I guess it could be stainless steel. Also, it is a 2 part lamp, the large bulb works great but the smaller bulb is missing, what's the best way to discover what bulb it is - the light originated in Sweden!!

I should think any sort of household cleaner that you could use on a glass surfaces would not hurt stainless steel, would remove smells, and would not streak.

As for the bulbs, is the larger bulb of the same style as the smaller, differing only by size? If so, take the large one to shops that carry assortments of bulbs and talk to the sales person.

I just thought of this: if you can find the manufacturer's name on the lamp, type it into google and try to locate the home office. You might be able to ask them about bulb types and places where you could purchase them.
