Onwards and Downwards Continues in June

Hi Everyone,

We were looking forward to the warm weather in last month's thread, well we got it didn't we?

Interested to hear about Jan's new wobbler and whether it does the job. Has anyone else done any unusual excercise recently or in the past and has it worked or was it just a bit of fun?

Here is last months thread

Welcome aboard Islasmum...you hit the nail on the head about needing inspiration when the novelty of loosing weight wears thin. This is our strong point that we can help you get focused again. I hope we will work for you.

I've got my Slimming World group tonight and I'm getting paranoid about it. I can tell from the fit of my clothes that I've probably lost a bit more weight, but part of me is really scared that I'll have put on pounds. Does anyone else have really stupid, negative thoughts like that?

Looks like everyone else has had a slow week, so I won't beat myself up too much. ;-)

OG, that must be so annoying, especially if you know you've mainly been sticking to the rules.
Oh dear, shall I whisper mine then. Yaaaay, lost 3lb this week which I am very pleased about as lost last week's 2lb gain plus and extra pound. I have to be honest though I wasn't very good but have been doing a lot of extra wobbling so it seems to be paying off. A friend of mine who has been away for three weeks says she can really see the difference in my waist and my arms so will keep wobbling away.

Good luck for tonight Kiki and try not to worry. I'm sure you will get on ok.
You'll be fine tonight Kiki......I expect there is more pressure when you are in a group than if you are just doing it on your own, but don't worry. Even if you did put on it's not the end of the world. We just have a think about where we went wrong and try harder from today on.
I forgot to say congrats to you Jan....that wobbler really seems to be working. I was just wondering where you had got to when your post arrived. Can you describe how it works?
Thanks xstitcher, couldn't get on to AB till this afternoon but problem seems to have been fixed now. If you want to see it in action there are a lot of videos on youtube but this explains it a bit.

Thanks for the link Jan. When I saw it I had to laugh because of OG's question about how he could keep it on his stomach!!
It's quite the contraption isn't it and I'm glad it's working for you.
Well I was concerned it would slide down a little.
Well it would add to your height if squashing counts...
I've lost a quarter of a pound. Well done to all who have lost weight. I've been treating myself again this week, so I'll try harder next week.
Well it's better than nothing notafish.

It does rather take over my living room xstitcher but no where else to put it at the moment. At least it reminds me to use it ...... time for another go now I think.
I woke up wondering how it went with Kiki yesterday. Don't worry notafish....1/4 pound down is better than the other way around. Temptation was on my shoulder all day yesterday, first ice cream and then a bit of chocolate...I went for the carrots...look at my halo.
Well done Jan. Wobbly seems to be working . You and I both Notafish I have a dinner to go out for On Saturday and at the moment I am saying to myself I am not having a sweet . But it's a different story when you see the menu.
It certainly is Wendilla..the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak ...and how!!!!
1lb loss last night. So I guess that's good. But it's got me wondering, what is a healthy weight loss? Is there a healthy pattern of loss or does it vary from person to person?
Hi kiki. If you have a lot of weight to lose it will come off quite quickly then steady up . Normally about 2 lbs a week after awhile if you have been really good but I would be happy with 1lb every week. Yes I would think some people would be different depending on any disabilities if not getting enough exercise . well done on your 1lb it is in the right direction.

Here is one out of many explanations to metalbolism that I got when I Googled it. It might answer some of your question Kiki.
Thanks, wendilla and xstitcher (fascinating link, btw). I want to shift about a stone and a half in total, so probably a pound a week is OK. One lady who joined Slimming World at the same time as me wants to lose five stone, and the first week she lost 6lb, then this time 4lb. I was wondering what I was doing worng, but it makes more sense now. Thanks for the wise advice, ladies. x
Glad to be of help....I'm going for 1 lb a week, but didn't make it this week due to cheating on myself. Just stay focused Kiki and you have won half the battle. Yesterday evening I was almost at the door of the freezer to sneak some ice cream when the thought hit me that although it would taste very good now, I would hate myself the next day for doing it and that feeling would remain longer than the satisfaction of the ice cream so I grabbed a couple of mini carrots and adjusted my halo and feel super today lol!!
That's really good xstitcher, and so true.. . . that the feeling of pride for eating the carrots lasts longer than the momentary satisfaction of eating some icecream :-) I shall try to remember that.
