Idly watching a TV ad, one came up featuring the latest hair shampoo and listening to the spiel that was being said throughout it (as well as watching JLO twirling her hair in it) one word struck me as a "wut?" moment. Apparently this shampoo has arginine in it. Now not being medically trained (no really, im not!) I'd no idea what this product was and strongly suspected it was a made up word, but no, bugger me its a real thing.

Now to my question...

How the heck can that ingredient be of any use on your bonce?

Oh for the days of Vosene ...

... and Coal Tar Soap ...

... nice fresh smell of creosote to start the day :)
love the made up words they use to convince people to buy their stuff, they do the same with anti ageing (boswelox anyone?)
I remember those days Dave but don't forget the carbolic soap lol.
I love the smell of coal tar,,,, still use coal tar soap if I've been doing anything mucky or if I have lots of gnat bites etc
doing anything mucky

The caffeine shampoo one, is that the one for men? Another odd 'un!
Shampoos like this actually do have an effect on the strength of hair. I did my advanced higher biology investigation on the topic and found that there was a difference between the strengthening shampoos according to how they coat and/or penetrate the hair and the kind of ingredients. I'm sure they all had arginine in them.

All very scientific.... That's why I can't remember much about it!! Haha! :-)
Funnily enough I was wondering what possible effect caffeine could have on hair only the other day.........
Isn't the caffeine meant to stimulate the follicle and encourage hair to grow back? (it doesn't work though - mr mac uses it and there's no difference)
