Another species gone for ever. Very sad.
I thought you must be referring to Mr Galloway !

Er... yes, maybe they should clone his DNA to retain the species, or maybe they don't think it worth the bother.

How did we let this happen? Could he not have been cloned like Dolly the sheep?
There are still giant tortoises but george was the last of a sub species. It is likely cells have been harvested in the hope of future cloning once it is possible
