Hey guys this is my cover of Hallelujah by Jeff Buckey.

Please let me know your thoughts, especially about my singing and guitar playing.

Thanks guys! Apologies about my awful mic.

sounds quite good to me :-)
Hi Jeff, it's a bit late for me to be blasting this in my house, but I will listen tomorrow.
I did post on our last song some ways you can get better vocal projection. Good stuff !

Beautiful truly a good cover!
If you want an earnest critique of it I'd say you'd have to get a better mic, but your guitar playing is fine, your voice in tune and it's all put together well enough. What I would say however is it's a little fast for my taste, as this song relies so heavily on being able to ponder it's lyric that you're in danger of losing the audiences ability to that. I'd like to hear it with a better recording but I have no criticisms of what you've done with it , I think through a better mic it will sound very nice.

The nearest thing you'll get to an SM58 for under £75 IMO ;-)
You need to practise the guitar intro so that you can play it fluently without stumbling over the difficult bits.

Try to make sure that all your chords are struck with equal weight - agan this is down to practise.

You need to slow down - your delivery is too fast, for the song, and for you, it is a song to be savoured for its emotion, which you will lose if you sound like you are racing to the end.

Great effor though, it's a seriously hard to sing and play well, and you are very well on the way to doing both.
If your after a good mic set up - this girl seems to have it down!

Just one small point. Hallelujah was written and originally recorded by Leonard Cohen. All others are cover versions. If you want the definitive version, please listen to him. This is a good cover of Jeff Buckley's version although I'm afraid I prefer Leonard Cohen's.
k.d. lang's version gets my vote.

Thank you so much everyone for your input, it's fantastic! :)
And Bambiagain, yeah I've heard Leonard Cohen's, and kd Lang's, and they are both brilliant. I only called it Jeff Buckley's because I used his arrangement!:)
