The form should tell you what to do?
Question Author
Hi boxtops, cant find anything to tell you what to do with them?

Will have another read now x
Leave them loose
Or put them in a smaller envelope and write photos on it - write it on before you put the pix in there so as not to deface the pic in any way
Hi pusskin,

When I send off either mine or any of the family's passport renewals I usually attach them with a paperclip to the corresponding applicaton form, but leaving them loose inside the application form is perfectly ok too. As they are glossed, cellotaping them will have no effect on the picture's at all. so personal choice really, puss. x

I just sent off for our youngest's renewal about 4 weeks ago and got a return back within a week which was brilliant.

Many many thanks yogi and all replies, didnt think of using paper clip !!!!
Cant get my head round anything today, cheers Abers x
I read not to use paper clips. Leave loose as photos will be laminated over
Make sure you don't have any hair covering your face!

I went to a shop to have mine done, she said it was amazing how many people have to have them re-done after doing them in a booth. I only paid a pound extra too....worth it to know they won't get sent back.

Hi Tambo,

The paperclip is used very loosely indeed, and picture side down to the application form, so no damage can occur at all.

Oj's suggestion is a good 'un too.......i do send them in a jiffy protected envelope, as you need to send in the current/expired passport for them to cancel, and always send next day Special Delivery guaranteed to arrive before 1.00pm

When you do this. pusskin, you can track the progress and arrival of the package to the Passport Office by Royal Mail Track and Trace, simply by entering the 13 digit reference number your post office will print off for you when you send it. That way your also covered it does get lost in the post too.

Here's a link.....

All the best,puss

To be 100% correct pop into a village/branch postoffice and they will check the whole thing over for you and send it on your behalf. Cost a few punds but well worth it to avoid any possible minor errors.
Theyre so strict i wouldnt sellotape incase it rips the form!

I left mine loosely xx

Thank you all so much for replies and the link yogi.
cant wait to get it in post and returned to me.
cant believe that the photo I had done a few days ago, makes me look a good 10 yrs younger, haha. I look blonde and beautifull lol
In case you're wondering about current processing times, I'll tell you that I posted my passport renewal (a few weeks ago) on a Monday evening at a main sorting office. The courier delivered my new passport just over 2 weeks later, first thing on a Thursday morning.
I just took my own photos and sent them in with paper clips, but a pice of peper round them so the clip didn't scratch the photos.

They sent them back saying there was a bit of fringe over my eyes. I just photoshopped it out and sent them back; quicker than taking new photos.
a pice of peper?
Question Author
buenchico, mine is now all sorted and on its way. Glad to get it on its way and get my passport back soon as poss now x
Child one has just renewed his passport. He just put everything in the envelope loose and sent it 'recorded signed for' on 1st June.
He got word today through their tracking system that it's all been processed, printed and should be with him in the next few days.
