I wouldd like to play Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 again on my laptop, and I've installedthe game, which wt through fine, howver, when i go to play the game, it just comes up with the following error box:-

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\rogram Files\Atari\RollerCoaster Tycoon 3\RCT3.exe
abnormal program termination

I can find many people with the same problem online, and only dead links for the patch that fixes this. If anyone has a live link, that would be great, thanks

Try this, as you've encountered a run time error from an external debugging script IMO

1.Click the Tools button , and then click Internet Options. Or, press ALT+T, and then press O.
2. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
3. Click to select the Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other) check boxes, and then click to clear the Display a notification about every script error check box.

To see whether this fixed the problem, open, or refresh, the Web site that caused the error.•If the Web site displays and works correctly, and if the runtime error message does not reappear, then you are finished. Be aware that you may still receive a notification about the Web page error in the Internet Explorer status bar . However, you can just ignore the Web page error. If this computer has multiple users, you might also need to log on as another user and repeat these steps for other users.
•If the Web site still does not display or work correctly, the problem may be with the Web site itself. But to test this, either you must have access to another computer, or your computer must be set up for multiple users. If you have access to another computer, try to view the page from that other computer. If your computer is set up for multiple users, log on as another user, and then try to view the page again.
If there are many people then it's probably a fault with the game. Best of luck finding the patch link. If you know the patch filename maybe you could use a search engine to search for it directly ? Check the URLs that are presently dead and see if they hold a clue.

(Perhaps if you upgraded your runtime C++ to the latest version it might sort it ? I'd assume runtime might be obtainable free but I wouldn't know for sure. Worth checking the MS site for in any case.)
