I've just offered a pair that I found in the shed when I moved in here, to somebody looking a pair on Freecycle.
Was wondering how much they'd cost if you had to buy them?

Not sure about crutches sandy but I've just bought a new aluminium walking stick and it cost me nearly £30 with delivery.
Don't know sandy, They wouldn't be cheap though I would think.
property of the health service no doubt?

pls return them, most out-patients have an amnesty!

unless the crutches are fitted appropriately they will not help the person's condition anyway! and if they really needed them, the healthservice would provide them FREE!
* didn't mean to sound so po faced!
Just what I was going to say - return them to your local hospital, nobody has to buy them if they need them for a clinical reason.
... and the NHS do give them out willynilly - friend of mine was a physiotherapist, one lady she visited had 6 walking frames. The NHS don't collect them, you have to take 'em back. We have a commode in the shed at the moment, waiting for OH to be fit enough to drive it back to the hospital.

I once returned a walking stick the NHS lent me. The woman who took it back really did look surprised.
These crutches have been in the shed for more than 10 years. As I've offered then I don't feel I can renege on the offer.
I see they would cost about £30, or so.
I found some crutches in my shed when I moved in here - it must be a trend!

Could garden sheds be the new patios? The crutches aren't buried because they'd never decompose.
Sold a pair at a carboot for £20 the bloke who bought them said they were worth every penny as he could use them when he went for benefit interviews I hope he was joking ...
Probably true I'm afraid rowan.
Should have sold him the wheelchair..... his partner could claim carers allowance as well then
LOL.
