A rainy morning here in the West of Ireland, but I managed to get the last copy of the Telegraph, so was able to enjoy this excellent crossword - not the most difficult grid fill, but an entertaining theme.
I don't have a Brewers here, but a few key words jumped out at me.
I did wonder if publishing a few weeks later would have been more appropriate.

Thanks to Jaques, and greetings to all EVers

Your 35a is a golfing term. The preamble states that we are generously allowed to have a second attempt.
If you Google 'golf second attempt' Wikipedia will supply a name. That name then replaces 35a and is the 4th word to be highlighted.
As I mentioned on the previous page, if you Google your new 35a with 13a you should get the four words.
Good luck

No response to my last entry, so I'll be a bit more specific. If you google 13ac, 32ac and 26dn you get a different quote. It seems a remarkable coincidence, especially as 13ac & 32ac are symmetrical. Did Jaques try to work this into the crossword and then abandon the idea?
Contendo

I hadn't really noticed the remarkable coincidence you mentioned in your initial post until I was prompted by your new entry.
The first name of the entertainer matching the surname of the author was very odd - well spotted.
Thank you All! Of course..............................! Easy when the penny drops. Interesting coincidence Contendo, I wonder if Jaques had realised?
Hello everyone,
After a relatively simple grid population I certainly was blown off course! Like x_word_fan I spent a lot of time trying to crow-bar in the wrong theme, and also spent a lot of time "grid-gazing"! Until I then decided to revert to logical scientific processes! By a series of iterations I located where the "generously allowed" second attempt should be entered into the grid! Further iteration lead to the modified entry! A search for that plus a rearrangement of our 7 corrected misprints indicated which words needed to be high-lighted!
We here on the south coast have been quite occupied with Jubilee things, hence my late posting. We had our own flotilla thing in the channel, a number of local bands playing on the promenade over the three day period, a Carnival procession one evening, a huge screen display of the concert, procession of the local Bonfire Society along the promenade culminating in the lighting of the local beacon last night, big screen display of the Mall concert and a spetacular firework display. We even had a local guitarist play some rock music, a la Brian May 10 years ago from on the roof of Buck House, on the top of a, suitably illuminated Martello Tower! I don't pretend to be a Royalist, although Herself certainly is, it was a very pleasant weekend! The weather was also generous, cold but dry!
