Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Finding the links is no problem - it's just that none of them work! Everything now redirects to the new-look Spectator home page. Don't know if this is a temporary glitch, or the end of Speccie crosswords as we know them.

I've just finished, but for the life of me I can't find the clued light (definition) to be highlighted. Can someone give me a hint, just a hint please?

I am having the same problem as foxy33 and bathtub. The link does not open a PDF page as it used to do. I assume that all you other regulars are able to access the puzzle as usual. Is this so? How do you link from the Speccy home page?

This looks like the end of the Spectator crossword on their site. It is nowhere to be found on the new "improved" version. There have been complaints already on the home page but don't expect any changes unless we all protest together. Even subscribers cannot access it. A sad day indeed.

Thanks K. Had to read your post about six times yesterday evening before I twigged it! Must be the heatwave we had here yesterday.

Whether we'll all meet up here again next week seems open to debate - if snailmail remains the only way I don't see miuch chance this side of the Channel, let alone the antipodes.

I fear that The Spectator people have realised that scores , if not hundreds, of Abers are accessing their crossword without either subscribing or purchasing the Magazine.

Hope I'm wrong.

Update - good news and bad news. Good news - they've realised their mistake and put the crossword back on the subscriber site under "Life". Bad news is that the latest puzzle there is currently number 2063!

Oh dear. They may change it. This happened before. No Spectator this week so we will have to wait and see.
