I have an Excel membership file on a flash drive that I've used for a few years now. I made a few changes to it this morning, which I do regularly, but it won't save the changes and I don't understand the reasons it's giving, which are:
1. The file name or path doesn't exist. (It must exist or it wouldn't open)
2. The file you're trying to open is being used by another program. Close the document in the other program and try again. (it isn't being used by another program).
3 The name of the workbook you're trying to save is the name as another document that is read only. Try saving the workbook with a different name. ( I have but I still get all 3 of the above)
Can anyone help with this please? TIA.

Try saving it somewhere else other than on the memory card, then restart the computer and copy the saved version in a different location onto the memory card.

Thank you. I've saved it to my external HD, but where is there a different location on the memory card? I thought a memory card was, well, a memory card? Sorry about that. Not sure about it.
Sorry that wasn't very clear...

I meant copy the file from the other location you saved it in to the memory card.

Thanks Chuck. I'm not on my own pc just now so will try later.

Tried that Chuck but it didn't work. I've tried amending some of the files slightly to see if it's doing with those and it is. Won't save any changes to any files and documents on the flash drive. I've transferred everything to my external HD and intend to delete everything from the flash drive then transfer it back again.

I meant to ask how can I delete all the files from the flash drive without doing it one at a time? I've looked for options to do this but can't find any.
You could try clicking the little write-protect switch on the flash drive.
