christmas puddings keeping ?

I alwas make my own christmas puddings but this year I have two left over from last chrsitmas. would anyone know how long the christmas puddings last and if it would be safe to use this year.many thanks

I don't know about homemade ones but I am sure my Mum used ones for months later.


And also the shop bought one's we have used 12 months later I think they mature a bit if it's been stored o.k it should be alright just cook it and see if it looks and smells o.k.

If you used enough preservative (ie alcohol) they should be OK.

They would be safe to use this Christmas, but they might start to taste bitter if you keep them much longer than 18 months after they were made.

Many thanks to you all that have answered. I am grateful.There is brandy -rum and guinness in them so they should be well "pickled".
