anyone got any designs that might work to jam mobile phones?

I just HATE it when I see people driving and using a handset.... like the woman on the M1 last Saturday, she drove for about 5 miles and the only handsfree element was no hands on the steering wheel (I kid you not)

so please some design one for me, or tell me where I can get a circuit diagram

a driving mobile phone user, if suddenly confronted by a loss of call/signal, is likely to be even more of a menace as they try and adjust themselves to get the signal back.
Yes that annoys me too. If I was a policeofficer, I would spend all my time fining people who drive with thier mobile phones. Do they know the damage they can cause. It's only when they do that they wil realise. They are not banned for nothing!

What about beeping at them and bashing their bumper??? That would get them off the phone. Also i was thinking, if i was invincible, i would jump out at drivers who were using mobiles while driving and then they would stop!
Bit wierd though.

Mushroom clearly defends people who break the law: how approriate the name is (mushroom, something that thrives in darkness)

and I did beep the horn, for several minutes, only to have the dim wit glare at me and obviously tell the no-doubt supportive person on the other end about it. I would have dearly loved to swerve towards her to see how quickly she could react without her hands on the wheel...

but then who would pick up the pieces of the wreckage she would probably have ended up in?

for the record, I do not condone the use of communication equipment whilst driving or indeed whilst undertaking anything requiring concentration, but equally I do not happen to believe that jamming the signal would be the right way to deal with the problem. To support that argument, just watch how people act when they lose their signal (10 years ago just such an occurrence cost a rail worker his life).
A mobile phone jammer would be fairly easy to build, you just need a transmitter that will broadcast white noise around 900MHz and 1800MHz.

It would probably be quite expensive to get the parts for something satisfactory to do the job though and you can expect to be asked questions as to your intent.

Actually using it would put you well over on the wrong side of the law as you would be broadcasting without a license on parts of the radio spectrum that are very expensive and jealously guarded by those that make money from it (the government & mobile phone operators).
