My pass port has run out of pages and I need a visa soon. The passport expires in 5 years. Do I need to get a new one or can they put extra pages in?

If you have a US passport I believe you can get extra pages added

If it's a British one then you will need to get a new one. You can buy one with extra pages from the start if it's likely to happen again.

Other countries - pass.
You don't need a new page for every stamp. As long as there is a space on a page that is fine.
Some countries require a complete blank page for a visa - some even two pages. One for the visa, which is the size of the page, and the other for their entry and/or exit stamps

Not all, but enough to be a nuisance if those are the ones you want to visit
if it's a British passport then zug's right - you'll need to get a new one.
If you've managed to fill your one up in 5 years then you havent done bad, and £77.50 for another 10 years isnt too bad, or pay the £90 and get a 48 page one
