Half burned candles

I've accumulated a number of large candles where the wick has burned down the centre of the structure but the outer wall of the candle is still intact. Does anybody know how I can recycle them, possibly advising where I can buy ready waxed wicks to melt them down and remould them? (Would have posted this in Home & Garden where it probably belongs but somebody has posted an enormous text-shaped candle under one of the references which takes up the whole page and prevents me from reviewing other related questions & then submitting. This is the 2nd time I've encountered something like this. How do you overcome this particular technical problem?

I don't recognise your problem in the H&G section. Everything looks normal to me. Which browser are you using?

Chris

Just a little tip from my daughter, on how to use Church candles, but not letting them burn down!

Make a little round hole in the top of a Church candle & pop in a tea light. They are very cheap to buy in bulk & can be replaced each night. They also look just as effective & will cut down on the need to keep buying more Church candles!

Thanks Chris. I used Internet Explorer as my browser and the problem I encountered in H & G section was under the title of Candle Powered (Bras?) Angel Carousel, where the subsequent text took over the whole page in the shape of a Christmas Tree & eliminated the usual option to "Still Submit" at the bottom of the page.
Thanks for your message, Wendy.

I'm still no nearer working out a solution to your browser problem other than the obvious one: Get a decent browser! Almost anything's better than Internet Explorer but Firefox is probably the most popular replacement. It's free, it's more flexible than IE, it's more stable than IE, it's more secure than IE and it's faster than IE. The only problem that some people have with it arises because it doesn't support 'ActiveX'. I've never found that this presents me with any difficulties except, annoyingly, here on AB. (Without ActiveX support,it's impossible to format text, so I can't use bold, coloured or italic text in my posts). This, however, is a small price to pay for using a superior product.

PS: You've been putting some very weird thoughts into my (rather warped) mind. Candle-powerd bras? Whatever next! :-)

Whoops Chris - big typo. this is what the question was which caused my posting problem in H & G section:

Candle Powered (Brass?) Angel Carousel

Did you read my answer too Wendy? If so, hope you found it useful!

Thanks Smudge - yes I did find your solution very pactical (and economical). The hollow inner section of some of my burned-down candles will just take a tea light so it will be a nice way of retaining some of their pretty shapes, especially the ones resembling an artexed snowball with glitter on the outside. I do like to have lit candles on a dinner table for the relaxing effect and the idea of using some of them as their own candle holder is quite novel. I have a great pile of run-down candles to use up which reminds me of my mother when I was a child during the last war - saving all the little slivers of soap and mixing them all down together in a dish with a little water to make a new block of soap to save on the soap ration. (That dates me doesn't it ??)

Chris - Thanks, I'll mention Firefox to my husband - he's the computer techie in our house. Perhaps I'm just getting paranoic about changes being made to my computer. Every time software is updated or changed something else seems to go wrong. Without a working computer I I feel like a fish without water.

You're welcome Wendy.
