I have recently got a new shower riser rail and shower head. The jet output from the head is very poor , is there anything i could do to increase the power of the water jet or is there a shower head that gives a good jet ? I believe that we cannot have a power shower as we have a combination boiler and you cannot run one off it.

In the U.S. a new shower head would have a restrictor device installed. This is a simple plastic button with a raised projection that fits in the neck of the head where it screws onto the water supply for the shower. These are easily removed, so might check that aspect...

Thanks Clanad for the reply i will take a look at that.
Try this site http://www.diydoctor.org.uk/home.htm go to the section titled diy projects there is alot of useful information and tips
Remove the head from the hose to see if it then has plenty of water coming out as you could have some of the plastic wrapper blocking somewhere. If ok it is probably the head, it may be adjustable for different spray patterns or it may only be designed for an electric shower or may as clanad mentioned have a restrictor fitted. If you are running it from a combination boiler you should have no problem with pressure and reasonable flow. Check all the service valves are fully open and see if other taps are working ok and that the incoming water supply is adequate.
