Help with Lotus Approach

I have been using Lotus Approach database softeware for 12 yrs and think it's great. I transferred it to windows 7 two years ago, and it has been working fine until today, when suddenly it stopped sorting my data addresses. I can get part-way through sorting them, but then it stops. I have another Approach database which was set up exactly the same time, which continues to work ok. Does anyone give me any advice? I am not technologically minded, so if you can help, can you keep it simple? Thanks.

Has the database got to big to sort, maybe there is a size limit for Approach files.
