Is anyone else familiar with this? Meaning "i don't care." Where does this originate from?

The earliest recorded use of the phrase dates back only to the 1960s. It is an abbreviated form of 'not give a monkey's whatever', where 'whatever' stands for the f-word or some similar oath.
