you sure that wasn't the big wheel come adrift....
where is JJ when you need her. x
I have seen a 'drilling rig' out there but wondered if it's a test-drill for the forthcoming Rampion windfarm?
are they going to put a wind farm off the coast of Brighton, oh god another place with these wretched things.
I saw a great big platform with lots of metalwork, that looked like an oil rig, in Newhaven some while ago, i think it was a gravel dredger.
There have been detailed public consultations about the Rampion farm; it will be visible from about Brighton to Littlehampton - large then.
windfarm off of skegness, right round to butlins at ingolmells, dozens of them, looks terrible, but not polluting the atmosphere, Brighton definetly does not want them, Yarmouth is also spoilt now, loads of them there.
percy
time that these monstrosities were stopped, you can't keep on spoiling the land and sea, there has to be a better way to get energy.
Not unusual for semi-submersible drilling platforms to be sailing down the channel, en route from the North Sea to Nigeria/Ivory Coast, as the exploration time of North Sea is now nearing the end of its usable life.

This, due to the initial cost of builidng the platform, has to be recouped from new areas of exploration, which in the current world situation tends to be in the Gulf of Niger, as below

Verily I dost believeth 'tis an maste, which measureth the elementes ... the wynde, the wayves, the resolve of the bottome of the sea ... 'Tis perchance somethinge to do withe the propos'd farme of the wynde.
