Hello,
This, thought I, should be straightforward. But I cannot for the life of me create a Thunderbird message template similar to OOo's Writer *.ott / MS's Word *.dot.

All I have been able to do is set colour for font and background: Tools/Options/Composition/General. But to create a standard pre-formatted message - AND store locally?

I am at a loss and would appreciate help for a Thunderbird newcomer.
Thank you.

If you write similar email messages often, set up a template that you can use instead of typing the same text over and over.

Save a Message as a Template in Mozilla Thunderbird or Netscape

To save a message as a template in Mozilla Thunderbird, Netscape or Mozilla:
•Compose your template message.
•Select File | Save As | Template from the menu.

A copy of the message should now be in the Templates folder of your email account.

You can use templates in this folder by double-clicking on them. This opens a copy of the template message, which you can modify and then send. The original message in the Templates folder is not affected.
