I want to send some lecture notes I've scanned to a friend. I can only send files up to 10MB from my email address. The file, even when zipped is 50.9 MB. How can I send them without dividing them into 6 different emails?

You can change the file type, and maybe the resolution, to reduce their size.

If they are Bitmap files (BMP) then these files are huge and too good a quality for what you need them for. Try opening the Bitmaps in a graphics package and saving them as JPEGs.

If they are already JPEGs then again open them in a graphics package and save them with a new name, but try to find an option on the "save as" window to reduce the quality.

By reducing the quality it should make the files a lot smaller.

Brilliant! I rescanned them using the JPG option, and then was able to send them no problem. Thanks!

Thanks for the send it website link too, I'll try this for bigger files in the future.
Use Swap it! Encrypt it! Lite to share unlimited files up to 25 MB in size for free.
The best part about SIEI Lite's service is you can send a file to an email address or upload and share files directly on Face book, Twitter and My Space.

Swap it! Encrypt it! offers a pay per use service that's cheap and really great!
Oh, try coupon code: tucows to send files up to 2 Gb for free through SIEI'S pay per use service.

Hope this helped. >>> www.swapitencryptit.com Media URL: http://www.swapitencryptit.com

You can use B1 Archiver. It allows to split the file into parts of the necessary size.
