I think there's a genetic element as well as the old exposure to sun and all that sort of thing. My skin feels horrible if I don't moisturise after the shower. My face feels nasty if I don't clean and moisturise it properly in the morning and evening too.
More men moisturise now, don't they?

The cosmetics companies just put our moisturiser into matt black or grey bottles, give them names like "ruffty tuffty" or "well 'ard" and sell it to guys at twice the price.

Lol jogger I tend to agree with you china I think a lot of it is genetics or maybe our skins are used to being moisterised my skin feels dry and taught if I don't use it
When I was in my 20s, after shaving, instead of using aftershave, I would help myself to a dollop of my mother's Oil of Ulay. It felt great.
JJ maybe more "males" moisturise now no man I know of does.

As for mens skin, I think its because they don't subject it to the same rigours as you Ladies i.e make-up etc.

What The Funicular its only johnsons baby lotion!
My other half has to moisturise daily as he has painfully dry skin. He uses Vaseline Intensive Care.

Accounts for the avatar then Mike.

Unlike women I don't think it is the default for men to moisturise, especially regularly. Maybe if they have a skin problem. And there will always be a few that don't conform to the usual cultural practices.

I suspect women tend to normally, partly because of culture, but maybe they tend to have less greasy skin and so feel the need for it ?
Peole of colour need to/should mosturise, hence people of colour that do, tend to have really good supple skin!
I don't wear make up, don't use moisturiser and my face looks like a bag of spanners!!!
