Would you buy a second hand vacuum on Ebay?

Going to need one soon and it needs to be reasonably decent because of the cat hair but I can't afford to shell out for a brand new Dyson or Miele. There's a few on Ebay but even so they are still a chunk of money that I don't want to waste on something that's going to fail in a month. Is it worth the risk or should I just buy a cheaper vacuum brand new?

Thats ok Lou, appreciate the suggestion and thanks for the good wishes.

This a good point Eddie, our Henry has somewhere in the course of his very long life lost all his bits so you're probably right the attachments would work better on certain things. Plus I do know Henry's are tough little cookies, even if you do keep dropping him down the stairs the little trooper just keeps on going. :)
eBay seems to have a poor reputation on here, but in fact the majority of ebay sellers now are commercial traders they just use ebay as it is a lot cheaper than having a shop so they can sell cheaper. You get the full manufacturers guarantee and the paypal / ebay protection as well if you buy from an ebay shop or trader rather than a private seller.
Here you go brand new £89.99 plus £10 delivery or free if you collect. This is the industrial Henry more powerfull than the standard house one , it works out about £25 cheaper than high street price and is delivered to your door.

Thanks Eddie, I've bookmarked that so I can have a look at it a bit closer to the time. (sure that seller will keep selling them by the looks of it)
