Rhubarb..............put in two years.....................didnt eat any last year as it....

was the first year of growth. Do I need to cover it now with a bucket or something to force it on.? Or is it too early.

It is not too early. You have a choice. If you want rhubarb earlier you can cover it now. Left uncovered it will come a little bit later. I cover some of mine using something taller than a bucket e.g. an old bin. The stalks will then be much longer than with a bucket. Good luck!
