Luton is a serious hole - I taught in Dunstable and we used to get some sixth formers from Luton and some of them were truly vile (seriously don't know how I didn't end up slapping one of them).
Really sherr? I was shocked at the "views" people had... Muslim extremists!! Marching the streets and saying UK police burn in hell and Britain burn in hell!
The girl doing the show had on what i would call a long dress on and some muslim women were shouting at her saying put some clothes in and she was told as she is not muslim she is going to hell. Fact.
Its a damn shame for muslim folk who dont believe all that and there were some lovely lovely men and women on the programme who totally disagreed with te extremist ways. Honestly id be scared to live there!!!!!!
Intrestingly the girl wore a burka and was shouted at in the street which i think is shocking id actually like to do that myself (wear one) x
We had quite a few vile students from various backgrounds. However, the Asian lads from Luton who joined the Sixth form were in a class of their own - they were on one year courses (as they had failed their GCSEs) and were amongst the worse pupils I have ever come across. I was spat at by them, told to f*** off as they weren't being told off by a woman and one followed me home in his car. Very confrontational towards women and I am not me for keeping my gob shut when a 17 year is mouthing off. There was talk that one of the Asian teachers at the school was a serious extremist - he left under something of a cloud in the end.
I half watched it tinks. I know a lot of muslim women and the majority of them wouldn't speak like that. It was showing each end of the scale and I agree there was fault on both sides.
If you wanna burkha day come up north, i'll go to town with you... both minority and majority muslim towns, we'll have a great day, and if we call in on my in laws lots of food too lol ;)
U know pdust i thought of you and i have a LOVELY friend who is muslim...i really hate that some people tar everyone with the same brush ...but jesus these guys n gals were something else its scary!!!
I would really love to wear one and go down my local main street as i can honestly say ive NEVER seen anyone in one in my hometown- people stare naturally i think but to shout is a disgrace! Even if they do scare me a wee bit hehe xx
aww bless you tinks and i have a lovely friend whos a fairy or something ;) lol
ive had abuse sometimes but apart from that walking down the street in hijab means most people just totally ignore you.....you know like fellas eye you up sometimes and you feel like euurrrghhhhh and do that shudder thingy? theres none of that lol.... so liberating :) i imagine wearing veil would make you feel invisible....
