Chatting on Answerbank and Facebook

It appears that a lot of people chat on both, and make up an "insider" group, making references to Facebook chats on AB.

I loathe Facebook, and the way it's spreading its tentacles like the new secret police, so avoid using it.

Does anyone else feel a bit left out sometimes?

Only if your tin-foil hat is delivered by FB "friends" courier, jth/ or, maybe we can bully the package until it comes undone. ;-)
I posted this the other day. I am always getting requests to be someones friend, and I don't even remember or know them

Why am I being forced to join facebook? It seems that quite a few sites that I used to visit are telling me that I have to be on facebook to continue getting the best out of the site. I don't like the idea of facebook, is this just my paranoid schitzophrenia kicking in or do others feel the same way?
jno - I think Dickythecook could do with a tin-foil hat, too.........if you're passing that way! LoL
Don't worry dtc, it's not your paranoia, it's just FB is out to get us all. They're behind all the www now!
I'm on both and am 'friends' with a couple of ABers.

I'm not sure it would be that difficult to track me down on FB and am not particularly bothered if they did; my posts there are as banal as here.

I can't say I feel particularly left out, but I would appreciate an explanation of how the AB page on FB works as it only ever looks like a page of AB questions with no comments.
Dicky, how are you being forced to joing Facebook?

I am yet to come across another site that requires me to be a member of Facebook in order to use it. I have come across sites where I can use my FB login, such as leaving comments on celeb gossip sites but there is almost always an option to join those sites seperately without having anything to do with Facebook.
Everybody knows who I am on FB and on here, never had a problem with it.
nope i dont feel left out... i rarely come on here or fb anymore

but i dont think fb is to blame, like others have said loads of us used to chat on msn years ago.... and with this giving out of personal details, well i dont blame fb for that either, i blame the people who are doing it, its them thats not trustworthy not a site... theres people on here known my address, phone number and all sorts for years and never given it out... thats cos they are nice folks..the others arent....
I don't fell left out at all. I spend a small amount of time on here but its still too much really. Like now when I have a day off and should be cleaning!

I'd never have time or inclination to keep up with FB too.
no
Thanks MarkRae, must confess never read that before, enjoyed immensely.

Likewise, Markrae - read it years ago, now revisiting and enjoying it. Thanks.

They don't write it like this any more ...
