I fancy making my own sausages but I don't want to make them with natural casings. Where can you buy vegetarian casings in England?

Apparantly there is no such thing and breadcrumbs or polenta are used as the outer layer of vegetarian sausages. However I found these through Google:

Natural casings are much nicer - unless of course you're making totally veggie sausages.

I've sometimes wondered in the casings on cheap sausages aren't made of plastic of some sort.
I think plastic might be preferable to the real thing sandy!
You're kinda stuck. Apart the alginate casing in Vodkancoke's second link, there are only three types of artificial sausage skin produced. One type is made from animal collagen, one from cellulose, and another from plastic. The first is edible, but the others should be removed after cooking.
