annoying adverts on facebook , how do i get them off ?

advise please anyone, everytime i go on f/b i get an ad right over the page asking me to apply for credit card etc, cannot remove it even though i go back a page ggrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!

which browser do you use? if it's Firefox you can to use AdBlockPlus.

I refer to adds on righthand side on face book. Before Xmas I bought a pair of Ugg boots which appeared to be coming from a legit sight only to pay £85 for a pair of fake boots and no returns, although they do advertise that you can return. I have exhausted my efforts to get any satisfaction and now have to come to terms with the fact that I am out of pocket.
This is the sort of add that i think Facebook should be checking before permitting use of their site !!!!!!!!!!!
