This is a belated answer to my own question re cold sore cures posted months ago. After suffering from coldsores for the past eight years, the last two of which saw them erupt onto my face with every month. I tried everywhere for possible answers, this site included, but nothing helped. Then I read an article about a cs sufferer who happened upon this liquorice balm which cured her of cold sores. I bought it, tried it and I haven't a single cs since the day I started using it (June this year.) So I thought I would share the info with anybody who is looking for help with this problem. The liquorice balm is sold through www.skin-shop.co.uk phone no 0871 871 9975 It is pricey, 12 with post & package but if you want rid...I have since read that liquorice has a property in it which stops the herpes virus from multiplying.

Thank you splange - I suffer from them a LOT too so 12 is worth every penny. Do you need to apply every day or just at the tingle?
What an interesting answer thanks splange.
Thank you! My BF gets them sometimes, and I'm desperate not to catch them off him, so this may just do the trick.

I apply it every day, just as you would a regular lip balm. However, after 2 months of using it, i lost the balm whilst on holiday and panicked that I would get a coldsore because I wouldn't be able to order a new tub until I got home. I went for four weeks before I could re-order and not one cold sore in all that time. I do use it every day now, though, just in case. Hope this helps others like it has me.

Okay folks, after going 6 months cold sore free, I am eating humble pie as I write this - one week after posting miracle cure I have erupted in a double cold sore. Gutted but there it is. I will still keep using the balm is its still a big improvement on every month.
