Muscle pain...

Three and a half weeks ago I twisted/pulled/strained the muscle in my right forearm just below my elbow (on the outside). It's been impossible to rest it and it still hurts when I use it. There are some things I can do without pain but others I can't. Massaging helps for a little while but is it too late to try heat or cold packs? And which would I use - warm or cold? I can't find anything by googling as they all seem to refer to pains on the inside muscle.

sounds like tennis elbow which I had a while ago. Glucosomine gel seemed to help a bit. Good luck

I'll have a go at that, thank you...I didn't know where to start looking for things to help.
After 3 week heat might be better then massage it when it is warmed up

I'd much rather try heat packs in this weather! I've just googled tennis elbow and don't like the look of that... like most people I was hoping to find a quick fix! I'll re-arrange my desk so I use the mouse with my left hand and try the gel and heat packs with massage when I get home. Thanks for the advice.
Can't see the point of either myself..........I would try Ibuprofen 400mgms as and when necessary up to every 6 hours for a further week and if that doesnt help a trip to the GP and a cortisone injection.

I agree with TOH.....it sounds like Tennis Elbow.

Thanks for that Sqad. I can't take Ibuprofen so I'll pin my hopes on the other pain relief and hope it goes away. I'll see what exercises might help and all that usual palarva. If all else fails I'll ask for the injection. Cheers.
I had a bit of tennis elbow and my osteo sorted it in one go during a session I was having on my back and neck.

Wow Jenna - I've been checking it out on t'internet and thought it couldn't be sorted at all, ever! I've started with the recommended exercises but the man who owns the gym I go to runs a sports injury clinic so I think I'll ask him if there's anything he can do. Thanks for that.
