what, you mean if our embassies overseas were stranded because something happened in the UK?

No. Say the staff in the Libyan Embassy. If the couldn't go back home?
Sandy, looks like an "each case will be considered on its merits" situation in the UK because their original diplomatic status would have exempted them from the usual immigration controls.
