What would be a suitable punishment for their perverting the course of justice, if found guilty. I would revoke their driving licences for life. If they went to prison that would cost the taxpayer money

Strange thing is, if GH is found guilty ex Mrs H will also be prosecuted. If GH is found innocent ex Mrs H could still end up in court, although on a different charge.
I would treat them in the exact way that anyone else would be treated. This is quite a common occurrence. Joe bloggs doesn't end up in the papers though!!
The vehemence with which he is protesting his innocence leads me to believe him. Otherwise he is committing political suicide and has more front than Blackpool.

If he is found guilty his political career is over, he has nothing to lose.
How about imprisonment sharing the same cell!
I know of couples where she has taken his points because he has lots and she has none!....it goes on all the time!........this is all because the ex wife wanted vengance!.....and now she's in court too!.........serves her right!....she agreed to do it!......
Storm in a political steam cup as far as i'm concerned. Goes on all the time - we should fine them and move on. The media have had their pound of flesh already.
If he IS guilty, it is not so much that he did it, but that he has denied it for so long, lie upon lie
maidup, I agree, usually as long as someone agrees to take the points and pay the fine, then theres no problem!........happens all the time!.....
Usual sentence is 3 to 6 months immediate imprisonment. He must be looking at 6 months, possibly more after fighting the case, on conviction because he has stubbornly refused to admit guilt and is a public figure who is supposed to make laws, not break laws . Perverting the course of public justice is a serious offence, so immediate custody is all but inevitable. She might be well get only a suspended sentence though, on a plea of guilty, just for grassing him up (or "because she was led into it by him, under his influence , saw the light" etc etc.)
