Candidates for office in this age of extreme media scrutiny cannot afford even the smallest slip in their comments, because this is the result. It may be what the others think - after all, they have no experience of being without anything in life, including their own way - but if picked up by the media, as in this case, they are slaughtered for it.

if I were Newt Gingrich i would wonder if endoresement from Donald Trump is not something of a poisoned chalice. This is a man who exhbits the weirdest form of comb-over seen in the western world, and who advised the media that if his daughter were not his daughter, he would find her sexually attractive.

Beware Newt - your own womanising and right-wing rhetoric may yet be eclipsed by the backing of a baldie-weirdo!
i don't even see it as a gaffe (am i missing something?)

just media pouncing on anything to report tripe.

In America, where it seems to be 'devil take the hindmost', it probably won't be seen as a gaffe by a lot of the electorate. It might even be to his advantage.
News for the sake of it, not worth a comment
