This site refers to it as 'interstitial cystitis'. There are some good links at the bottom of the page. (The 'Useful Links' page includes a reference to the Cystitis and Overactive Bladder Foundation, which might be able to offer further help and advice):

Hoping this helps,

Chris

I must agree with the info in Chris's link. My former housemate used to get cystitis all the time and drinking cranberry juice used to help her loads.

If you don't like cranberry juice, Ocean Spray do loads of variations on it, or you could mix it with orange juice if it helps it down easier.

Good luck. I hope it clears up soon. :-)

You can also buy Cranberry Tablets. That way you wouldn't taste them. You can buy them in the Health Stores or I believe the supermarkets sell them as well.
Barrow you have my heartfelt sympathy as a long-time sufferer. I've been reading on the web about Waterfall D-Manose, it's supposed to be really good. I haven't tried it myself but may well when I have some money- it's quite expensive. Hope you find some relieve soon.
Another remedy to try is one teaspoonful of Bicarbonate of Soda in a glass of milk, the taste isn't great but it does work quickly. Regulary taking cranberry tablets, does seem to stop cystytis it before it starts, hope this helps.
