Major indecision here ,I'm doing a cryptic quiz , the last clue in section headed Detection is :: She lives on her hero's patch, surrounded by water. (5,4) I have put Nancy Drew .. my family are pouring scorn on that but are unable to suggest an alternative !! This has to be posted in the next day or two so any ideas,help, moral support welcome. Thanks

Thanks forthe suggestions,you certainly are a well read lot! I can't figure out where "her hero's patch" comes into it,I'd gone for Nancy Drew cos it fits and she lived with her father (lawyer) and helped him with his cases. In other words I'm baffled....

Could it be Aiden Burn? Fictional character in CSI NY. Died in series 2 in episode called Heroes and a Burn is a Scottish stream or river. Maybe she was working on her 'patch'!!!???
