I have yet to complete my teacher training but hopefully will do before the end of the year. If I work for say.. 1 weeks supply this year i.e. before 1st January when the retirement age goes up from 60 to 65 will I have a retirement age of 60 or do I have to be in a permenant job before jan?

I don't understand. it already altered didn't it? A few years ago and it depended on your birth year whether it affected you or not if you were born before a certain date. Is this not the new one about age descrimination?

In Scotland, any person joining the teachers' pension scheme after September 2006 will not be entitled to that pension until they are 65 (was 60 originally).

I think it is the same across the rest of the UK.

Anyone know if it's the same across the UK as Ive found websites that say Jan 1st?
