LAPTOP FREEZES ON AUDIO,YOUTUBE,WATCHING MOVIES?

hi all i have a acer laptop model acer aspire 5738z,and the past few weeks it seems to freeze when either listening to online radio,watching films on any media player,and watching anything on youtube,when it freezes i cant move the cursor or anything and it sounds like theres a gremlin in my computer,so have to hold power button and then restart it...its getting quite annoying now especially when it does it half way through a film..grrrrrrrrr...any help much appreciated...its running on windows 7 ultimate.

What browser are you using?

Youtube doesn't work on my computer using Firefox 9, running Windows 7 but works fine on XP. I have to revert back to Firefox 3 or use IE 8 for Youtube to work. Maybe someone has a clue what the problem is.
