poor you! that kind of caps the day off, really. have a large drink (after you have screamed, of course!). do you wanna talk about it? x
sympathy....
In time, you can move on to charity shop buys, which bend when sat on and dry on radiator if dropped in bath.
Now, if you sat on a book you would still be able to read it. A lot to be said for books.

Sorry though that you have had a bad day.
LOL Mosaic. Agreed!
Have you had it long? My partner has already had 2 free replacements when his broke (the second in ccircumstances similar to yours). The customer service at Amazon Kindle has been exceptional.

I've had it about 7/8 months I think, Prudie. Did your friend take out accident insurance? I didn't.........

Actually, the Kindle was probably the least of my problems today. The hospital visit was to my Mum - she's very old and very ill and doesn't deserve all the unpleasant treatment she is having to undergo. Cant say more at present as it's just too upsetting.

Forgot to sat thank you, Icg76,Mosaic and LoftyLottie for your sympathy
dont need insurance, just ring amazon and they'll replace it for free. i dropped mine and the replacement was with me in 2 days
Oh! My world would cave in if I sat on my Kindle, I'd be devastated.

If it's any consolation, my day's been crap too. Work all day, serving miserable arse customers, then I gets home to two letters on doormat. One reminding me about a upcoming dentist appointment and another reminding me to book for a cervical smear....which was nice!
I've had a bad week. I found out about a job opportunity I could have gone for which was emailed to all other staff in my department in my grade but not me. The closing day to apply was 6th Jan so I made an offical complaint but was told that the email distribution list it was sent out on didn't have my name in it. I was mightily peed off but I let it go.
Phaw, that would have peeved me too, tigger!

Lottie, I agree with you - a book is a book is a book.....
I was livid Box, but I couldn't hold the person who sent the email out responsible for the error. I just have to let it go even though I'm still reeling.
Sorry about your dead Kindle Beckersjay. I hope that you can get a replacement. Also sympathy for your mum. Have had both parents suffer very badly in the last years of their lives, which neither of them deserved. They are at peace now, but it was so awful to see people who were once so strong and proud, living in the pain and misery of their failing bodies. So many of us on here really do understand.

Thank you Grasscarp - it's all very raw at the moment. I watched my father die a couple of months ago and it's hard to bear all over again so soon. I don't know why I started this thread about my Kindle which is just an annoyance rather than a tragedy.
When life gets you down you have to concentrate on the minor stuff to get you through the day, as the big stuff will overwhelm and upset you. The Kindle is bad news and hopefully it can be sorted but what some people on here have said. Answerbank is great for practical help in all situations. IMHO.
