KA problem!

I was driving home tonight, and my KA suddenly started to sound very roughly. I think maybe the engine was missing, and I could hear a slight rattling sound too!.........anyone got any idea what could be wrong?....going to take it to the Garage tomorrow, but my usual mechanic is away, so have to go somewhere new, which I hate, sometimes they'll tell a female any old rubbish, so would help to have some idea of what could be wrong.........TIA

Hi top_ driver, yes I did check the oil level, it was fine, The mechanic rang me earlier, the said 'the problem was that the coil was breaking down and so were the leads' he was just finishing off the job, and so I'll collect it in the morning, no idea of cost, had a service too, he hadn't worked it out yet, hoping it won't be too painful!.......

FAO top_driver, Just an update, picked up the Ka today, they had done a full service, changed the coil and leads and even adjusted the handbrake, it,s running like a dream now, I was expected the bill to be huge, but it all came to £185, I think that's really good!
