Can anyone please recommend a good jump starter with a compressor. My existing unit has died. I have checked many sites offering these units but the reviews are mainly poor unless the price is over £100. Many thanks

There seems to be a lot of cheap ones here..........

I've no experience of these things myself but would expect them to come under the "cheaper it is, poorer the performance" category. If I wanted one, I'd probably go to Argos because you have 30 days in which to evaluate it; if you don't like it, it's quick and easy to return and get a full refund.
Go on EBay & look at chargers on there, do not use the cheap ones they are a waste of time.

Machine Mart have this. I have no idea how good it is.

The real problem with these things is that people leave them in the garage for months on end and then (of course) when they are needed they are not only flat, but often will not accept a recharge because the internal lead acid battery is completely knackered.

If you buy one then make sure you give it a top-up charge every three or four weeks and discharge it fully (just leave the lights on overnight) once a year or so and then recharge it immediately afterwards.

Thanks Sunny Dave
dave's advice is very sound. Any rechargeable device needs to be "used" - particularly with this sort of gel battery.
