why doesnt my dell p1911 doesnot display batman arkham city in 1080p or 1080i

everytime i change my display settings my ps3 xmb is displayed in 1080p but when i play the game and check back settings it runs in 720p?

Because the games maximum resolution is 720p

All games on consoles run at 720P. It's only really 1080p/i for movies.

Sony made a big deal of the fact that the ps3 was the only console that could display games at 1080p. Microsoft then played their trump card revealing that the 360 could do so also.
