Really down to the wire with this one - please can you help me?

The clues are cryptic and the answers are provided - and they all had number ones

Clues left:

thank you jno - for that one I had 'Middle of the Road' - must have thought ir fitted originally but can't think why now.

I do seem to be in a bit of a mess don't I box tops??
well, white line in the middle of the road
Middle of The Road will be the answer to "R….. and white lines"
Explanation- in the middle of "the Road" is the letter R and white lines
... oh and the-R-oad, so R is also...

so just swap the two answers.
Middle of the Road could be 77 - white lines
^ doh, bit late!
ok, solved that one. Shall now resume working on my cure for cancer.

And 'Stamp on a letter' should be Seal ( the answer I had for the above question Se(al) )
