I would like to take with me my entire record of my e-mails by transferring them from the computer I have been using (including deleting from the source drive) onto a hard drive I am using with a second computer. What is the best (i.e. simplest) way to do this without using the Internet ? The machine runs on Windows XP.

I had been trying this but, sadly, the search comes up with "no results". Puzzling, eh ?
Have you tried a 'Flash Drive', that should do it.
Karl: Are you sure you entered the search criteria correctly? If you just search for dbx you won't find anything. You need to search for *.dbx (that's 'star dot dbx' if it's not too clear on your screen). This should work. If it doesn't, just search for 'inbox'. The other files (for other e-mail folders, etc) will be within the same folder on your PC.

(On my PC, inbox.dbx is located in this folder:
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\{0E98361B-BA55-4CCE-B46E-7F4D3B882181}\Microsoft\Outlook Express )

Thanks - the problem is solved, although nothing was at first found when searching "all folders, all files" . However, Microsoft has a special definition of "all" it seems - it helps if you make sure you enable a search of "all hidden files" as well to get "ALL". I am now home with the full record.
