How do you post something to America by Air Mail? Do you just take it to your post office and tell them you want it sent by Air Mail and they charge you or is there more to it? Do you write the destination address (and your address on the back) first or do the post office have to do that? Thanks.

Address the envelope. Affix a blue air-mail sticker (available from Post Office) to the top left. Put your address on the back (optional). Attach the correct postage (if you know it). Post through slot in postbox. . . . If you don't have any of the things mentioned just go to the Post Office counter.
what i do is just tell the person behind the counter that you want to send this to the states by airmail and recorded delivery. When you ask for the recorded delivery you will be given a slip with a reference number on it this means you can keep track of your item.I always write my name and address on the back of the package or envelope incase it has to be sent back to me for some reason or it's a failed delivery.I recently had to send something to the states and i used a thing called swiftair it's the same as airmail but it's quicker.Hope this helps you out.
Take the item to the Post Office, they attach a "Air Mail" sticker to the item and then charge you the full cost!!
