5% of the population were Roman Catholic (Papists)

So had they succeeded would they not have been crushed by the other 95%? Just trying to speculate as to what would have happenned if they'd suceeded.

PS anyone else verify the figure? I have a real doubting Thomas mate who thinks it's much higher. No reflection on your answer Artemis.

The figure of 5% was given in the ITV programme with Nicholas Hammond on 1/11/05. The true figure of those who would have wanted to be Catholic is probably higher, as In A Pickle said.
Where can you get this ginpowder? And what do you do - just add water, or would tonic be better?
