Is that the kids' show that was very like Harry Potter? I wonder which came first.

It was a series called the Worst WItch - I know the books upon which the TV series was based are not very recent

Just "Googled" - the first book was publish way back in 1975 so Mr Potter has a precedent.

I used to love those books when I was a kid, though I don't think the TV series does them any justice. Harry Potter came much later than the worst witch, but is just as enjoyable, tho I do think it's ridiculous that the church thinks it'll turn all kids into devil worshiping satanists!

I haven't read The Worst Witch in ages, that takes me back... but I do remember it's Cackle's Academy, not Crackles.
