Yes .. It's great.
Noooo way would I dump XP for Vista.

You probably need a cleanout .. check processes, etc OR a reload Windows.
Are you sure it wasn't recommended to upgrade to windows 7, rather than vista?

I can't see any one who has half and idea about computer suggesting an upgrade to vista.
I have vista, not sure what the difference is tbh. I find mine slow, IE is often 'not responding', but not being technically minded I wouldn't know if it is the fault of vista or something else.
Install ... not upgrade (if you can afford it) : )
Don't go to Vista!!!
I've got it on this laptop and I spent ages disabling all the "helpful" popup screns.
Go for Windoze 7.
Agree with Al. Much prefer my trusty old XP desktop to my wife's Vista laptop depite the latter being a supposedly more updated machine. Google for 'winxp versus vista' and you'll see that many people don't think much of Vista compared to XP.
VISTA IS CRAP. DONT GO NEAR IT WITH A VERY LONG STICK
I'm on Vista as it came bundled with the only budget PC I could afford at the time.
It's a damp squib to be honest, XP was great but not fully supported any more. Windows 7 looks like your best bet for an upgrade. Skip Vista, seriously, it's cr@p.
Thanks for that richard, short of buying a new lappy I'm using vista with no stick. What is the difference? :0/
AYG, as long as you make sure vista has all the updates it's not really worth changing it. I'd never suggest anyone chooses vista over XP or windows7, but if it's what you have it's perfectly OK to stick with it, all the major problems were sorted out with the service packs.

Thanks chuck & fender, there are always some requests to update this and that appearing on screen which I find annoying, not knowing which is needed. My laptop is around 3 years old. I have thought about upgrade to win7 but not sure how much it is or if it is ok.
Vista is awful, I hated it so much. Now have Windows 7 and am really happy.
