Halogen heater, (very dull glow)

Hi, I use these heaters around my house and have just bought a second hand one, although it looks in good condition and works fine, the glow from the bars seems very reduced from the ones I already have,does the reduced brightness have any effect on the heat output.

What's the rating of the appliance? It is on it!
They also operate over a range of wavelengths, the higher the wavelength the darker they'll appear, this isn't directly related to the heat output of them (although it will effect what materials absorb that heat best)

Hi AlBags, the tag on the back says,
230v ~50Hz and 1200W.

For AlBags. Just been to check other halogen heaters and they all have the same figures on the plates at the back.
